Meteor Shower Eta Aquarids will peak Monday morning and Tuesday morning, giving increased viewing opportunities to see upwards of ~50 meteors per hour. - Peak time will be 3:45am through Twilight. - You'll want to look East-Southeast. - Ensure you're in an area with little to no light pollution.

Some highlights of yesterdays chase in Illinois! Mini-Supercell structure was amazing, with beautiful striations and crisp cloud features! We also spotted a tornado north of Vernon, Illinois -- The tornado was rated EF-2 with wind speeds up-to 114mph.

Those who support this also support innocent lives being at risk due to lack of severe weather warnings and research to better understand our atmosphere. All because you wanted to save a buck. ๐คก

If you're in the "weather community" and you voted for this administration, you should be ashamed of yourself. to all of my friends who work for NOAA / NWS, we stand with you and we're wishing the best for you. Thank you all for everything you've done and *hopefully* will continue to do.

One of my favorite chase days from 2024 was the June 13th cell near Lancaster, Missouri, which produced nearly 5" hailstones.

This storm went from initial radar blip to producing very large hail within less than 60 minutes. ๐Sounding and hailstone photo in first reply๐

Weather friends, what's your favorite example of explosive storm initiation to supercell characteristics in a short period of time? Mine is May 25, 2024 where a storm initiated in southern Kansas and went tornado warned within <60 minutes.

Out of all the times I've been fortunate to photograph the Northern Lights from northwest Missouri, the most memorable session goes to the night of October 06, 2024. This was the first time I saw the Northern Lights with my eyes from Missouri! (1/2)

Thank you, Cameron, for giving me an excuse to go back to slightly re-edit a photo I took on May 18, 2023. Subtle things like redoing lighting and removing powerlines can make a difference in a photo!

August 08, 2023 / South of Yuma, CO โ A rain wrapped tornado emerges from the curtains of blinding rain shortly before rapidly dissipating. - Did anyone else happen to photograph this

? It would've been at least 30 minutes after the initial and very photogenic EF-3.

A lesser known tornado from April 26, 2024 is the Redding, Iowa tornado. This tornado would be the first spawn of 3 tornadoes from this cyclical supercell. I positioned myself west of the storm near Fletchall Township, Missouri where I captured these 3 photos at 0028z. (More in Replies)

Pretty substantial CME impact from our X3 solar flare that occurred on Wednesday from sunspot region 13869. Questions arose if this CME would even impact Earth due to its launch orientation. It is unknown at this time if we may see favorable Aurora conditions from this CME, but only time will tell!
