I do think there is a level of gatekeeping in comp Splatoon. But there is also a sense of “I beat Z so I’m entitled to Y”. It’s not either or. I think it’s both. That’s why I think it’s important to prioritize fun. Play with friends. Enjoy tournaments. Play X Rank. Don’t make this your everything.

Kirby Air Riders looks incredibly fun. Metroid Prime 4 looks really promising. Pokopia makes me feel that this could be this generations Pokemon Snap. Fun games all around.

Pokemon Z-A is fun. A few gripes with the game. The points required for the shiny charm, particularly the 1000 battles, is a bit asinine. If you complete everything else, you only need 100 points. I’ll think I’ll just continue battling in the DLC. No rush in getting the shiny charm tbh.

This seems like a good enough reason to play the game again.

I appreciate the Pikman 4 update. A lot of replayability with that update. Marvel Invasion finally got a release date. I’m honestly thinking of just buying that in Dec & playing that rather than Metroid Prime 4. I unfortunately don’t have a lot of time & I will likely still be playing Pokemon ZA.

In Pokemon X, the first Pokemon I caught was a shiny Fletchling. Route 3, full odds shiny. Years later, in Pokemon ZA, the first shiny Pokemon I caught was also a Fletchling. I was going to my first rank up battle. Rank Y, full odds shiny. I had an Anton Ego moment. I am enjoying this game.

My nephew came over yesterday. First time he ever showed interested in video games, and somehow, Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Kart World caught his attention.

I’m ngl, games being $60 for 10+ years is pretty insane. It’s clearly good for consumers but businesses probably had to eat their margins when costs when up lmao. I would not be surprised if GTA 6 is $80.

Investing in my retirement so when I’m 65, I can play TOTK whenever I want.

I will be working at home for the foreseeable future. Any recommended docking stations? I’m planning to connect a laptop to two monitors, wired keyboard & mouse, el gato mic & camera.

Ghost of Yotei is so tempting but there’s just too many games coming out this fall/winter 😭 I will never understand people who say consoles need to have game releases after releases so quickly. I work M-F. I do not have time to finish one game in less than one month.

I have a feeling that people are setting really high expectations for Pokemon Z-A and will be dissapointed. Personally, I’m excited but I will keep my expectations reasonable.

There were only two bosses I absolutely hated and dreaded fighting against again and again and again. Only for a huge sigh of relief at the end.

My top 4 enemy boss fights in Hollow Knight Silksong (ordered) Some of the characters I died most to but had a lot of fun figuring out how to adapt to.

I think what I’m looking forward to the most from Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 is watching and reading first time players reactions to the games. They’re such good games. I unfortunately will not be able to play them but it’s cool others will have that experience that a lot of us had in 2007/2010.

I think black & red is cool and green is likely the worst color.

I don’t think I’m going to get Super Mario Galaxy 2 after all. I don’t like that we can’t use mouse mode for player 1. It would have been a nice feature. The game just needed something equivalent in smooth movement like the Wii controller. Ultimately, the biggest reason is I don’t have time tbh.
