I think Brilliant Diamond & Shiny Pearl is a great game for beginners but not a good game for experienced players. My girlfriend, who has never played Pokémon whatsoever, has enjoyed playing Let’s Go & Brilliant Diamond much more than Pokémon Sword & Violet.

My favorite time in Pokemon will always be Gen 3 - 5. There is definitely a nostalgia bias there but I think a lot of my enjoyment comes from how I interacted with other people who enjoyed Pokemon at the time. Online expansion has made, not just Pokemon, gaming feel somewhat isolating.

What if Flow Aura gave the player auto ink recovery (like 3-5%) to differentiate it from like Opening Gambit in Splatoon 4?

I own a DS lite, 3DS and new 2DS XL. I’ve been on the hunt for a new 3DS at a reasonable price & it’s been difficult to get one. I’m fine just waiting. No immediate need to get one. So many are overpriced for the condition they come in.

The HP bar is a bit interesting after thinking about it. Why the change? My biggest assumption is that it is to address barriers to entry. Rn, players learn to intuitively see how much damage is inflicted. Could this be to help the avg. gamer get more info?

I recently played TOTK for the second time and, my god, what a difference it makes when you: Rush the game (1st image) vs take your time (2nd image). I had a lot more enjoyment in my 2nd play through. 62.43% vs 80.49%

Thanks for the responses. I am building a time capsule of my childhood memories. For Pokémon, so far I have: Blue Soul Silver Alpha Sapphire Diamond Black Black 2 X Ultra Moon I’m thinking of adding Leaf Green & Emerald & replacing Diamond w/ Platinum. But those are hard to get legit copies of.

Do you consider Pokemon Black/White to be the same as Pokemon Black 2/White 2? Would you also argue that Pokemon Sun/Moon are the same as Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon?

I think Splatoon will get a Switch 2 edition. It’ll be at least $5 and the incentive to buy will be QOL upgrades and performance updates (in game, not just plaza) New weapons + maps, free for Switch 1 + 2 versions. (My assumptions are based on recent announcements + ACNH)

Pokemon Z-A was strange for me. Fun game. But for me, the Pokemon craze started winding down after Gen 5. Gen 6 was a nice temporary adrenaline but the craze went down down with Gen 8. Arceus, like Gen 6, was a temporary bliss. Z-A just reminded me that Pokemon doesn’t feel the same for me.

They look nice but it’s really expensive. Skipping.
