One of the biggest reasons I've focused my energy on pinball as my new favorite hobby over MTG is having to constantly battle FOMO like this. It's so exhausting and frustrating trying to keep up with new magic products and it sucks when they don't give you a fair shot at buying cool SL drops

Got to check out Pastime Pinball in Manchester VT. 60+ machines with a good mix of old EMs and modern LCDs. Had a blast trying a bunch of games I've never played before. Of course my best game would be on the cocktail machine, Night Moves, that you play sitting down.

Two days ago we got our first pinball machine. Today I'm digging through schematics and trying to find a replacement fuse. Pinball ownership doesn't get much better than this.

We got a pinball machine!!! A ton of work (not by me) was put into restoring this Monte Carlo. Playfield looks brand new. Drop targets have new decals. Cabinet has new custom decals. It's running a rom that changes the 10M repeatable shot to a 1M shot to make strategy less repetitive. Love it!

Something very exciting is happening tomorrow. Let's just say I'll be posting pictures of my balls soon.

Got to play some new pinball machines yesterday for a few hours. Jaws, Foo Fighters, and Munsters were all great. Loved the layouts and themes. Stranger Things and TMNT can go die in a corner. Those games were unforgiving.

This playfield isn't super exciting. I was kinda hoping for a Kanto map that you could traverse ala Jurassic Park pinball. The picture quality here also just isn't great. I'll save full judgement for the actual reveal.

I've come full circle on the dragon multiball in D&D pinball. The first time it happened, it was the coolest multiball I've ever seen. Now I just kinda hate it? Shield up and spam flippers as much as you can until you either win or lose feels bad. It's impossible to make calculated shots.

Just now listening to the Wedgehead Podcast episode on why pinball center ramps suck. As a new player, THANK GOD center ramps exist since they are the only shots I can consistently hit.

I've been hooked on pinball tournament VODs lately (shout-out to Fox Cities Pinball). It's comforting to know that even pro level players insta-drain fairly frequently. Seems like it's just part of the sport.
