Winter Landscape because I'm on a hike right now and having a blast ❄️

Paintings of 2025 ✨🌄🍃 I'm ending this year exhausted, and maybe a bit distraught about myself and my art. I really feel like I didn't do much. 🫠

We report: we have seen this bright, bright spot in the sky enough times over the past few days that we remembered to ask our expert what planet it is. This is Jupiter, bracketed by Gemini and Canis Minor. We spend some time imagining we can see the storm raging on its surface.

We report: all the snow and the ice came in the very last hours of the night. It is a paper thin layer on the ground, and it will likely melt when the sun comes out, but the view is arresting nonetheless. Our expert is trying hard to contain their excitement, unsuccessfully.

We report: the wind is forming white horses on the open sea. Our expert thinks this is a 4 or a 5 on the Beaufort scale. We like it when our expert brings up scales and numbers, and when they are not quite descriptive enough. The sun skims the sea foam with low, timorous rays.

We report as the wind picks up in the mountains: here where the trees are rare and frail thing, the thinnest breeze sweeps us over such that it is difficult to walk against the tide. Rain breaks through the clouds in short bursts. We do our best not to get our hair in our mouth.

We report in the wake of the hundredth shower of this day. We almost slipped on wet, dead leaves earlier, and we are now very busy watching our feet, lingering adrenaline tickling our fingers. Even then, we stop to look up every few steps, hungry for the dying light.

Mean Gandalf and poor Bilbo ♥ I drew this one few years ago (but it suits the Hobbit storyline of my posts :D )

We report: late afternoon by autumn standards, the yellow sun meets yellow leaves. In some places, we see the colours change every day, but on certain trees, the transition seemingly happens overnight. We look up, wary of the numerous mast year chestnuts that fall all around us.
