FYI for fellow narrative designers/game writers: the studio in question is Sentona Games and it’s my understanding they are currently interviewing to replace me. Be very careful with them. They were very nice to me and easy to work with right up until I needed the money I was promised.

I'm not a huge Evangelion fan, but I appreciate how the series & movies managed to feel so reflective of Hideaki Anno's personal life and developing worldview. They're often rough, but always earnest. So I hope the upcoming series closes that chapter and moves onto new characters and plotlines.

The urge to rebase yet another shitty script from 6 months ago calling to me like the One Ring.

Finally got the chance to watch The Substance. The movie hit me very close to home, especially the pre-date scene. As someone who often bails on social events and dates at the last minute due to feeling so physically offputting, it resonated with me greatly.

With the world being what it is, I've gotten an increasing urge to reread Fullmetal Alchemist...

As someone who has worked on multiple colony builders on the narrative side, I can highly recomment City Tales - Medieval Era. It marries high-profile city building and small-scale character stories in ways few have attempted to do before. Also has great vibes; building your medieval city is a joy!

So apparently we're finally getting a "big" budget movie about Kalevala (Story of Kullervo), the cornerstone of Finnish mythology and culture... but they've stripped away all the supernatural elements from it?!

This is simply not technically possible. You cannot generate enough writing in-house to train an LLM. You cannot generate enough art in-house to train a GAN. People who think they have a model "trained on our own material" are using a base model of mass-scraped data, unknowingly or disingenuously.
