Skerries Day 2 - the Red-backed Shrike remains, as does the male Common Rosefinch which was singing last night and showed briefly today. At dusk c850 Puffin gathered off the Grunay lighthouse rock before going ashore. Greylag in pic as Puffins a bit distant.

One of the easier species during a Lancaster area bird race yesterday. We finished on 118 species including Bittern, Spoonbill and Ruff. My personal highlight was a Green Woodpecker on the Fylde, where they are less than annual.

Thanks to Chris Batty for pointing out that the mobile Dalton-in-Furness White Stork appears to be up to its old tricks at this time of year. Interestingly it appears to have gone over Scarborough on more or less the same date two years running. Things may get simpler if it's ever caught!
