aka Chris Harris, he/him. Canadian musician. Neither new nor notable.
pinned post!
New album available. It's a grimy, expressionist ode to a place I used to live as a kid. Naïve new wave-ish instrumentals and vibey nonsense, for those tuned to such wavelengths.

As an enjoyer of Cronenberg and Philip K Dick, it's odd that I never watched eXistenZ before tonight

Watching Bowie interviews, he seemed to always promote a new album at the expense of the previous album. I think part of it was just promotion-talk, or maybe it was just his excitement about the new stuff; when he didn't talk like this, you could tell he thought the new stuff sucked ("Tonight").

"Whynott" is the new album coming out 14 Oct. It's about a place where I grew up. You can pre-order, if that's your thing; you can also hear a couple of the songs already.

My new collection of songs (or 'album') will be out 14 October. I'm impatient, though.

Visiting family in Nova Scotia. Kind of a bummer with all the wildfires (like everywhere right now), not allowed in the woods at all ($25000 fine; they're not messing around). However, new album's done, which is always a very nice feeling.

A (mostly) all-Canadian edition of the AM on

this week. One or two songs are a stretch, I’ll admit, but it’s not officially Canada Day yet, so maybe just let it slide. Streaming links:

Doing a Bangles deep dive (why not). Their first EP and their first album (All Over The Place) are quite pleasant.

For over 25 years, upon completing a project I've diligently backed up all the individual track files for hypothetical future remixing or some such. I've never once opened any of those files again. I assume that's a common thing?

Y’see, the thing about David Lynch is that he was very, very funny.

Looking at all the Top 100 Movies, Top 100 Albums, etc. gives me second-hand stress and burnout. If I were so employed, I'd want a month of sensory deprivation at the end of the year after taking so much in, so thank you for your service.

No matter how many times I watch it, It's A Wonderful Life is still an emotionally harrowing experience. I start tearing up during the Mr. Gower scene, and it doesn't let up from there.

I have made mulled wine in the past for New Year's Eve (twice), and liked it, though I usually dislike wine. I made it tonight, drank half a mug, and dumped the rest. Too many cloves or something. Boo.

In our house, one Christmas movie we inexplicably watch every year is Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger. We've never watched the first movie in the series.

$90 seems expensive for a PC game, but then I remember that King's Quest 3 cost about $50 dollars in 1987 and was made by a team of about a dozen people...

Spotify Wrapped Top Artists: The Focus Group, Brian Eno, Belbury Poly, Chromatics, Roger Eno. All top songs were from Brian and Roger Eno's Mixing Colours, which is excellent winter music, btw

My theory is when a place doesn't freeze in winter, it has a whole bunch of other natural or societal problems, directly or indirectly related to that fact. Thus, my way of coping with winter is to see it as the price we pay to not have lots of poisonous animals (for example).

My 14-year old past self would be happy to hear that I'm still making music at this point in my life, but would be rather disappointed that it doesn't sound like either Nirvana or The Doors.

Giving this site a whirl. However, I'm not convinced that my posting on social media improves my or anyone's quality of life, so I only have half a toe in the water (better than that other site, but that can't be the only measure).
