i only just figured out last night why my vr headset wasn't working on linux. my rx 6600 has an hdmi 2.1 slot. i ordered an hdmi to displayport adapter for like $8 last night so hopefully i can finally get it set up.

lost my minecraft hardcore world i started a couple days ago because mojang in their infinite wisdom decided that you shouldn't be able to block attacks with the shield until a full second has passed. it's a shame, i had an extremely good mining trip with over a full stack of diamonds.

i just beat faces of evil and wand of gamelon. they just need a little rework with the controller and physics and they'd be pretty good. kinda wish the bosses were a bit harder though, since they're really just a glorified puzzle/item check.

been a while since i last posted so i'm just gonna say it i'm still stuck on the farewell golden berry in celeste. i can get to the room just before the lock boxes occasionally, but any more than is too hard for me right now.

to anyone who's knowledgeable on the quirks of running hollow knight on linux, how in the world do i get these two achievements to register? using proton for mods if it helps

i imagine dark dollars in deltarune would have image_friend's face on it. still haven't figured out what a light world counterpart could be. glitter, maybe?

so i was playing sml2 archipelago and just learned that linux mint has controller support. accidentally pushed the left stick while tapping the guide button to reset bizhawk, so that's good to know.

decided to make minecraft-styled item tooltips in gamemaker

trying to redesign the minecraft hud with support for a few mods (overflowing bars, appleskin, and the aether) because the original was never updated for the 1.14 texture update to my knowledge

trying to make a custom gml language definition for xed (linux mint's built-in text editor) since it doesn't come with one. i can see why they didn't bother. i'm not even close to being 1/8th of the way done.

decided to knock out a contract in a hat in time earlier, i think i'm making good progress. gonna be using peace and tranquility for cruisin' for a bruisin' since i already struggle a lot with ship shape. not sure about seal the deal tho, but it just sounds like boss rush all over again.

welp, that's another reason to try and find some source of income. for whatever reason the oculus app doesn't natively support linux, so i kinda have to resort to looking for alternative vr headsets instead of just using my rift cv1. only issue is that the index is out of stock atm.

forgot to mention but i did switch to linux a couple days ago. still installing the programs i had back in windows but i got steam games working.

i thought windows 10's end of support date was 2026. it's october 14th 2025. since i should start switching to linux, i want to know what everyone's opinion on linux mint is.
