it would've been pretty interesting to have a document or a video that exhaustively compares Game Boy and NES. there are some technical differences, similarities and quirks. There are certain things that the Game Boy is better at compared to NES, and vice versa.

I watched one more episode of the new gumball season (The Assistant) and i thought it was good. i didnt say it last time, but the animation is about on par with previous seasons, which is to say, it's pretty good, the 3D VR setting in this episode is a good showcase. there humor is decent.

the curiocity got the better of me and I watched the first episode of the new season, revival or w/e of The Amazing World of Gumball. it's alright.

Beat Shadow Warrior 2. Some of the most fun I had in a while. It may be a little repetitive because all you do is accept quests and shoot bad guys, but it does the shooting really well, that I didn't mind it. So much so that it has become my new top 10 FPS. At number 3. Yes, I enjoyed it that much.

the Shadow Warrior Trilogy bundle is paying off. i've been enjoying all of its games so far, which are Shadow Warrior Classic Redux, Shadow Warrior (2013) and Shadow Warrior 2. They are so fun that I want to come back for more and that's saying something.

Beat Shadow Warrior (2013). Actually, I beat it twice, first on normal, then EX mode on insane. I thought it was great, fun shooty action, decent story and good presentation. I enjoyed it a lot. Insane difficulty was meh, it made fights longer, rather than difficult in a satisfying way (esp bosses).

game boy's assembly (and Z80 assembly in general) is so hard to read. granted, I've been more intimately familiar with NES and SNES, but still. I keep tripping over its many registers compared to straightforward A, X and Y.

I recently beat Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars for the Nintendo 3DS, and I thought it was a great game. A pretty fun turn-based strategy. I'd say it's up there with Fire Emblems in terms of fun factor. The story may not be as good, and there's no matchmaking (cough), but it's worth a try.

I got an even better idea for a disassembly challenge. disassemble a japan exclusive game, then use that disassembly to make an english translation of. it could still be based on demand as I initially proposed. sounds 1.4 times cooler.

As part of the future Donkey Kong (NES) optimization hack, I coded a mix of the old RLE layout building system and an object system similar to those found in later games like Super Mario Bros., where you can programmatically construct an object, and then use multiple instances to save space.

Got my birthday gift early. It's Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. I loved Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, so naturally I wanted to play the sequel.

In Donkey Kong Jr. for the NES, it's possible to clip into solid boundaries. Using this glitch in Donkey Kong Jr. Math's +-x÷ excercise selection screen will result in Junior dying and respawning out of bounds, forever. This also results in Nitpickers showing up with wrong colors.
