Ferrari were just incompetent, whereas McLaren are foolishly letting driver parity influence every single strategy call. Same as Merc in 2014/15/16, but they had the car advantage to deal with any problems this caused (apart from Malaysia ‘15). The McLaren’s quick, but not that quick.

Even if McLaren had double-stacked on lap 7 and cost Norris a bit of time… …the podium would almost certainly have been either PIA/VER/NOR or PIA/NOR/VER. Just so unspeakably pissed off at how badly wrong they called it. Literally everyone else took the SC pit stop.

With the DSQ in Vegas and now this shitshow, it’s not McLaren’s drivers keeping Verstappen in this fight; it’s McLaren.

McLaren did not “psychologically ruin” Piastri Even if they did, if Piastri can’t recover from it then he doesn’t have the mentality to be a top-level F1 driver. Which I don’t believe is the case; he IS a top-level driver, he’s just going through a patch of poor form and succumbing to pressure.

If Lando outscores Max by 10 points in Las Vegas, Max is officially out of title contention.
