one of the weirdest things abt online art discourse esp around music is the total antipathy to comparison, like as if comparing/finding connections is this violent move done to diminish the sacred individuality of a piece of work (or worse, the artist)

i think i dont rlly like 'meta' plots bcos they're often just way too cut and dry. a sort of cinemasins desire to banish contradiction and indeterminacy from art, that u could theoretically sweep away all the grit and friction of form/content to reach some smooth state of perfect unity.

What 'artificial intelligence' obscures is that all intelligence is artificial, and I think you can see how AI discourse goes hand in hand with thinking of IQ/'natural intelligence' as being legitimate.

Rw/reactionary art I think is primarily defined by a belief in reality as an unchanging absolute — their measure of Good Art is fidelity to a fixed idea of reality. Depicting reality/people/the world as things that can change is seen as a kind of lie that distances the viewer from 'reality'.
