The world is scary right now, but I have beaded jewelry to help cheer me up. I'm also saying "Fuck it"! I don't want to hide. I'll be even more miserable if I hide. This is the time to be resilient. We can do this!

The vulnerable moments still come up often in my head. They are very real fears for myself and others, but putting myself in hiding is not going to help in the long run. We need people more than ever before to come together in solidarity to face what is going on. 🧡

How do y'all keep going? Where do y'all gather your strength? I know we all have strength. I feel so weak as more sadness and heartache comes in.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi. He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael. At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk. Wael died on Friday at age 30. ICE caused his death. They didn’t get to say goodbye.

It's ok to feel sad. It's ok to feel happy. It's ok to feel mad. It's ok to feel sappy. It's ok to not be ok, it's what I hear from friends at times-- and they are right. You're allowed to show emotions, you're allowed to be who you want to be-- don't let yourself forget just how much you matter.
