10 years ago I interviewed Marielle Heller and Bel Powley in a Fairmont Hotel suite. I biked up the hill because I was a dumb baby journalist and as I asked them questions in that beautifully appointed room, the heat of my sweating face kept fogging up my glasses.

Sad news. 2nd Floor Gallery was an amazing, only-in-San Francisco space. I last saw her in March 2021 at SFAI’s sesquicentennial show, that she co-curated with Leila Weefur. I loved the short-lived podcast series they released In conjunction, and wish the episodes were still available somewhere.
