Fall is in the air! Had a lovely time sitting with our neighbors today, and people seem to be in good spirits! We brought out our usual sandwiches and supplies and are starting to prepare switching things up to protect from the cold weather coming💚

Distro day! Folks are prepping for the storm this afternoon, so they dropped by quickly to grab some breakfast and supplies before the rain. Got a few requests for tents- as ever, please consider a donation if able

Distro! We had people come through, pick up breakfast and supplies, and sit and chat with us. Two folks got swept by NPS without notice, and they need new tents, sleeping bags, and clothes. If possible, please considering donating to our GN or from our WL to get them the supplies!

Yesterday we hosted a Stop the Bleed training with UMD’s LGBTQ+ Equity Center. We talked through how to assess and treat injuries from gun violence with the goal of keeping people alive until professional help can arrive.

Distro day!! The weather is beautiful and we had folks sit and hang out for a while :) we brought out laundry detergent so people can wash clothes after the rain last week. We also took out a tent and a sleeping bag, as well as the usual breakfast, water, snacks, & batteries

Saw the usual suspects today plus a few from the Kennedy Center sweeps. Still some folks needing tents since the city destroyed theirs. Despite all that people are in good spirits and hunkering down for the rain later today!

Out again! We saw significantly more people today- some new friends and some we’ve known for years. Folks filled up all our chairs, ate breakfast, and chatted about how they’re doing given… everything. We got three tents and a sleeping bag out today, and three more people requested tents

Another quiet distro. Still haven't been able to find where half the folks we used to see have moved to. The people we are seeing are happy to sit and chat with someone for a couple hours! Get to know your neighbors and bring them water and food, it's worth the effort we promise💚

Posted up for our usual distro today after the city swept everyone yesterday. We saw only a third of the people we know, and everyone seems quiet and shaken up. No one knows where is safe is set up or how long it’ll be before they’re cleared again.

A police officer laughed at us helping someone move today. These heartless pigs will never protect us. We are all we have💚

We did our usual distro last Saturday and warned our friends about possible clearings. We've been out checking on folks nearly every night since the announcement Monday. Today the largest camp we distro to was cleared, many people losing all their belongings.

URGENT: DC to clear many homeless encampments tonight (Thur, Aug 7th). Please spread widely and share with media. My hunch is that this is @MayorBowser working with @realDonaldTrump , but I cannot confirm that yet.

Meme Monday! On a Thursday! Why tf not! There are no rules!

Distro mega post!! It’s been hot as hell and stormy to boot, and we’ve been out the last three weeks to bring out some cooling supplies! We took frozen water bottles, electrolytes, snacks, and breakfast, as well as 10 rechargeable fans and a bike pump for our friends with leaky wheels.

Inaugural distro!! Jk we’ve been doing supply distro to this part of the city for more than 4 years, but it was good to be out this morning. Brought breakfast, snacks, supplies, bottled water and sports drinks, and frozen water for our pals living outside through this heat. We’ll be back next week!
