When I first started my scicomm journey in undergrad, I was a paleontolgy who loved talking about the science and painting verbal pictures for people. Even then I thought most scientists should take a public speaking or debate class as a sub for another core elective.

I literally cannot understand the people supporting those in power anymore. I know there are things that they have exploited, such as lack of literacy in media/science/medicine but their overall fear of the unknown. But seeing measles retun and they don't do a fucking thing is just baffling to me!

As a conservationist, scientist, and science communicator find both the mel Gibson are appearance and the continue wildfires misinformation extremely frustrating and disheartening. We as science communicators need to work 2x as hard to make sure we aren't drowned out by grifters and anti-scientists

I am watching an interview with a cult deprogrammmer and I am seeing that similar tactics and exploitations between cult leaders, mlm, conspiracy theories and pseudoscience/misinformation campaigns like anti-vaxx. I wonder if either I make this content or of it should be a research study? #scicomm

Something I am loving (even though the climate implications are terrifying) are all of these ice age mammals being uncovered with soft tissue, fur, etc. It's so cool to help add authenticity to recreations and displays. But also i think subconsciously leads the public towards evolution & ecology
