That's true. Though I took him in OBP leagues where he'll maybe play up. TBH I'm less worried about being a one cat problem; my concern is that he just can't hit MLB pitching. It's high risk/high reward but (IMO) without keeper value the reward isn't big enough for the risk, in most cases

This is me 👇 I've been highly skeptical of Murakami. I'm not going to pay the prices I've seen in most drafts/auctions. I wouldn't be interested at all in redraft. But I also drafted him in two leagues this month - one keep 9, one dynasty - where the price was reasonable.

Been a few early @ottoneu.com auctions - posted about one last night; have a slow one going; know of a couple others. Going to write up some interesting values in early drafts of leagues impacted by keepers and inflation. Any players you're particularly interested to know what they're going for?

keeper budget in this case. we held 29 players at $373. but our offense is quite strong and our pitching should be enough in a points league, once we fill in the depth.

The @fangraphs.com staff league @ottoneu.com draft has just kicked off. @nivshah.com and I have like $0 to spend (ok $27) to fill like half our roster (ok only a quarter...11 spots). this is going to test my patience. already annoyed that @dolphhauldhagen.bsky.social got a $24 Freddie Freeman.

It's a preseason friendly and all, but I continue to believe Osaze would be the best striker on the roster given the chance and getting him and Morris on the field together (either Morris on the wing or 2 in the front) is the strongest lineup the Sounders could use. Do I have evidence for this? No.

This is a big win for both Obed and the Sounders. But super excited for Obed. I think it's telling that the club that made this move is one of the clubs that had to face Obed at the CWC.

Feels like an offer Cleveland could have made and it would have really helped. I don't think Bader is a star but at this price you can use him as your starting CF and if guys like Delauter, Rodriguez, kayfus, valera etc force your hand, you use him as a bench piece and it's still fine.

A quick example of data and information changing my thinking on players this week. My initial reaction to Bregman to CHC was to hate it for him. Pull side power in a park that's really deep down the lines 😬 plus Wrigley depresses 2B and 1B. Felt like a bad fit. Paredes comp was inevitable...

There are reports that Brenton Doyle is available via trade and I think he'd be a good fit for the guardians. Maybe Paul Depodesta can do a solid to all the browns/guardians and send Cleveland the CF we need?

He'll be 34 just after Opening Day. His offense looked washed in '23 and '24. He just had a surgery that's really negatively impacted pitchers (is there much history for hitters?). I can't imagine he has much trade value, right?

I have been in favor of a 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 1 more for the shootout win structure instead of the straight 2/3 but I think saying there's a solution implies something is broken and I think MLS as an entity is thrilled with this result today.

I'm not defending CEO pay, but Walmart has 2.1MM employees. If we took every cent of that $27MM from the CEO and gave it back to employees, they'd all get $13. CEO pay isn't the primary issue. Should they get paid less? Sure! But that's not "the problem"

So nice to see a player from a prior era embracing the modern game instead of complaining. And I'm not just saying that because this Cleveland fan LOVED Joe Carter a few decades ago. His WS winning HR is still the closest I've come to celebrating my team winning a title.

55, 52, 11th... Whatever. But going on the road and beating a legitimately good team in their house without a first choice lineup is a huge confidence boost going into a playoff run that won't offer many home games

The Mariners fan part of me is not enjoying being at this game. The much larger Guardians fan part of me is...well I guess enjoying it but really feeling like maybe we didn't need to make those trades 😕

I don't think it's a problem having playoff games at 1 on a Saturday (or even a weekday for these WC games) because you want to stagger the games. That said, if you want a game at 4 ET and another at 9 ET, why not have the Brewers at 3 local and the Mariners at 5 local instead of the Brewers at 8?
