Oops, they did it again! Sort of. I can log into my recipe and fiction writing account (@sighing-sadly.bsky.social), but when I try to do anything in that account, I now get Bluesky's infamous error message. "Not Found Unable to connect. Please check your internet connection and try again."

Support has refused to help, or even really to listen. I sent them an email explaining the problem, and all they've been willing to do in response has been to send me a form letter reply telling me how to reset my password, which has nothing to do with the problem at hand.

I can log into my account without difficulty. I've done so in two different browsers. I don't need a new password.

The problem is that once I'm in, if I try to post anything, update my bio, go to my explore page, or really try to do much of anything in that account, almost everything vanishes off of my screen, and is replaced by some version of that "fail to connect" notice.

This is an issue that has been discussed at length on Reddit, for over a year now (as it turns out) and all that support has been willing to do has been to send that irrelevant form letter, that thing that has nothing to do with the problem I've reported. Because Support can't bother to listen.

There is a history behind this event. @sighing-sadly.bsky.social was suspended a few months ago, by some anonymous admin who sent me an email claiming that a hearing was held, and that I was found guilty of the offense of impersonating myself. No, that's not a joke. That happened.

I raised quite a stink about the whole absurd incident, both here on Bluesky and over on Twitter, and the modstaff backed off for a few months, because there was no sane way to defend their position. But here we are, a few months later, and they're playing games, again.

Last time, part of their problem was the fact that I had a few hundred followers on this account, already, which doesn't make this a huge account, but it's big enough that when I report something indefensible here, the bad word travels.

But if I keep doing these "yeah, lost access again" posts, my followers are likely to get tired of reading that, and either tune out or unsubscribe. I think that's the idea.

If you guys all leave, then whoever was trying to power flex at my expense a few months ago, can come back and hit both of my accounts, once the witnesses are gone.

Yes, I've sent in a reply explaining to the anonymous admin why his form letter was not helpful, and we'll see what happens, but I'm not hopeful. History, at this point, is giving me no reason to feel hopeful about this.

As for why our anonymous friend is doing this, who knows? Maybe he hates women, maybe he hates people of Indian descent, or maybe he just loves creating problems for random strangers. Who knows?

In the case of each of those three possibilities, there has been a lot of that going around, hasn't there? Until I see a real, satisfactory resolution (and a real apology), I'll be posting on the site where (so far) I haven't been messed with by the staff. Hope to see you over there.

I find myself bemused, if that is the right word. If one looks my bio and top post, one quickly finds out that I'm female and am engaged to be married. Yet I keep getting followed by women with porn accounts.

I'm not going to slut or kink shame. If somebody is that comfortable posting naked pictures of herself, I'm not to question that. She's an adult, I'm an adult, everybody involved is consenting and it's all good. But is something making them think I'm looking for photos of naked women?

If we're just looking at people who do soft core or erotic shots, and want to know more about math or read a few stories, that's cool. Maybe I'm reading too much into this. But I'd hate to think that there was an assumption that all Feminists had to be Lesbians floating around.

If so, that's a bad assumption and it's going to lead to awkward situations. Being a feminist just means that I expect to be taken seriously as an adult. Being a radical feminist means that I'm not going to be patient with those who disappoint me in this matter.

It has nothing to with hating men, or wanting to avoid them. Neither does being a Lesbian, for that matter, but if I can get somebody to abandon one absurdly off-base stereotype, today, I'll count that as a win. One takes one's victories where one can.
