I haven't had the time nor energy to do much sewing this week. I'm currently working on the hooves. 🪡🧶❤️ Yesterday I got a GPS-tracker for Murphy, enabling him to go outside alone. It was fun watching him on the phone, as he made a beeline for the part of his territory that has been off limits. 🐈‍⬛🗼

The days are positively flying past. There's no shortage of tasks that need to be done, before I can sit down and have a little me time. Most of the time I opt to spend it on crafting. Other times I just sit idle, happy to be able to do nothing and just snatch a breather. 😴🪡🧶🐎

I've been working on assembling the pinto markings over the past few days. This is hands down my favorite part of the assembly process. I did run into a bit of trouble with a missing pattern piece, but it was easy to fix, since it was one the tiny neck spot and had a very simple shape. 🪡🧶🐎❤️

I've begun work on the pinto remake, snd have finished most of the prep work. I'm still missing a couple of things that need to be traced and cut, but those can wait until later. Now to sort through the pieces and figure out how they fit together. 🪡🧶🐎🤔

I'm still feeling like there aren't enough hours in the day. I've been able to carve out a few hours in the evenings to work on the kitties. I'll be setting them aside for a while, to work on a pinto remake. Speaking of horses. Thanks for all the name suggestions for the grey horse. 🪡🧶❤️

First half is done, second half and the rest of the body will be started tomorrow for the #moffpuppet

I love how the mottled grey fur turned out on this horse plushie! I'm still looking for a name (and a home). Artemis is the best I've come up with so far, but I'm not entierly sold on it. Any suggestions? 🪡🧶❤️🐎

Murphy is doing well and we've resumed our training sessions outside. I wish it was spring time again. It's cold outside and Murphy prefers to go outside after dark... From the get go he seems much more robust, compared to the first stroke he suffered.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm chugging along, but time to sew is at a premium. Murphy had another stroke two days ago. Luckily it doesn't seem to have been as bad, as the first one he had back in June, but it has set him back in his rehabilitation. He is doing well, all things considered.

My crafting buddy visited me this weekend, so it was a perfect opportunity to start on something simple, that I can work on and off on, between the lifelike plushies. I've been itching to try out the cat themed furs. 🪡🧶🐱

The hoof bottoms are one of my favorite details. Now to add padding inside the hooves, fill them with plastic beads and seal them. After that I can finish the leg seams. 🪡🧶🐎🍂

I got up early today and worked on the creation of the hoof bottoms. It felt like a bit of a struggle. Every step of the way something would cause trouble. I did get through it eventually. Phew. I swear that embroidery machines are possessed. They're always waiting for a chance to screw up. 😬🪡🧶🐎

I've made a decent amount of progress yesterday eve and earlier today. I really like the quality of this fur. It's both pretty and super nice to work with. It doesn't make for exciting photos at this point, but that should change soon. 🪡🧶🐎

The days are busy, so not much time for crafting lately. I've started on another horse. This one won't have markings, so I picked a frosted fur, for a more mottled look. 🪡🧶🐎 It's my birthday today. Might do some sewing later today, or just chill. It's a beautiful autumn day with sunny weather. 🍃🍂🍁

I brought Moe the Valaise plushie outside today for his outdoor photoshoot, before he's off to his forever home. Murphy came along and kept photo bombing me, so I figured that I should try to include him.🪡🧶 📸🐑.... 🐈‍⬛....

I love how this Valais blackface plushie turned out. It's adorable with all the curly fluff left intact. It struggles like Bambi on ice to stay standing, as the top of each leg is very soft and wobbly. On the other hand it poses very well when sat or laid down. Now to find a name and a home. 🪡🧶🐑

I'm always looking forward to the floppy photoshot right before stuffing the plushie. I think that this little ball of fluff looks extra cute in this stage. Viewed from the side it reminds me more of a fluffy dog than a sheep. I'm very curious how the proportions will look once stuffed. 🪡🧶🐑❤️

Done with the head! I kind of like this super fluffy look. It's not a realistic fur length for a lamb, but it is very cute... Maybe I should keep it long? What do you think? 🪡🧶🐑

There's never enough daylight left, by the time I'm able to sit down and do some sewing. Anyways. Most of the head is assembled. There were a few "bald" spots among the locks on the forehead that worried me. I patched those up with a bit of extra fabric sewn in. Next I'll be adding the ears. 🪡🧶🐑

Finding good references for what the facial fur on a Valaise blacknose sheep looks like has been tricky. On many photos it just looks like a black blob. There is a lot of texture though, so I've tried to add some of that to the muzzle. 🪡🧶🐑

This lamb plushie (and me!) is drowning in fur! Where are my scissors?? 🪡🧶🐑✂️😵‍💫

Making fairly slow progress, as I have less time to craft atm. What I've got so far is looking pretty weird. I'll have to shorten the wool for certain. That will come later though, as I want a better understanding of how everything will come together, before doing anything that can't be undone. 🪡🧶🐑

All the furs from my recent shopping spree have arrived. I don't know where to put them, but I do know what I want to make with them! It's hard to decide which project to start with, but I think that I should go with the Valaise black nose sheep. Wish me luck with this one. I'll need it! 🐑🪡🧶

Grace the Appaloosa plushie is finally done! She's fully handsewn and clocked in at 86 hours. 🪡🧵🧶🐎

Long time no see! I had to put the appaloosa on hold, while waiting for the tail fur to arrive. I haven't been idle though. I finished two fast orders, reorganized my work space, worked on the pattern for a valais blackface lamb and went on a fur fabric shopping spree.... 😆

There are a lot of crisscrossing seams in this ones, and a few markings that don't line up perfectly, making the assembly of the body a rather confusing business. It all worked out well in the end though, and I've reached the point, where I can begin adding the hooves. 🪡🧵🧶🐎

It feels great to be done with all the markings. I had to redo four spots, that I couldn't tell apart the first time, but other than that the assembly went really well. Now I can focus on the rest of the body, including the feet!

Finally done with the last markings. They've taken me 17 hours to assemble, over the past three days. I almost see spots whenever I close my eyes now! 😵‍💫🪡🧵🧶

Adding all the little black spots is a very slow process. I managed to mix up two of the dots, and misaligned a third, so I had to backtrack a bit and reattach them. Today I've been working all day to assemble the large side piece. I'm really happy with how everything blends together. 🪡🧵🧶🐎

Phew! Tracing and cutting all the furry pieces, along with trimming all the excess fur from the seam lines took a good 10 hours. X_x Today I can finally get working on the part I like the most. It's slow work, especially with the black dots, but I've already done the first three pieces! 🪡🧵🧶🐎

Feeling super excited about this upcoming appaloosa plushie! I'm dreading having to trace all the furry pieces though. There's 120 of them and I fear that some of the fabrics might object to my markers. Not feeling too keen on all the tracing, I started with the muzzle instead. 🪡🧵🧶🐎

It's difficult taking good progress pictures with this combination of dark furs (and a strain on the eyes to work with). I've been working on attaching the individual cloves and assembling them today. 🪡🧵🧶🐐

Finished the head of the Nubian goat and attached the neck. Those ears are giant! It's a bit unfortunate that the inside of the ears has a rather strong backing that prevents them from acting floppy. 🪡🧵🧶🐐

I love seeing how all bits and pieces are coming together to form the head of the goat. I use safety "cat" eyes with oval pupils to emulate the horizontal slit pupils, that are very noticeable in goats and sheep. 🪡🧵🧶🐐

Got the markings done and the individual toes assembled. It's difficult to lay out the flat pieces of the head in a meaningful way, especially with those huge ears. I figured that Nutmeg the goat might bring in a little cuteness, while also offering a preview of the markings. 🪡🧵🧶🐐
