loading . . . Protect birthright citizenship, uphold the Constitution, serve Ohioans. How dare you go on Fox News and claim that President Trump “loves the American people” and is acting in the name of “safety, security, and prosperity.”
There is nothing loving or protective about policies that unleash fear across our communities. There is nothing patriotic about federal enforcement tactics that terrorize neighborhoods, separate families, detain women and children, and trample due process. When people are afraid to leave their homes, send their kids to school, or report crimes, public safety collapses. Civil rights are not abstract principles. They are lived protections, and they are being eroded in real time.
Your words ignore the documented harm these actions cause to American citizens and lawful residents alike. They normalize the abuse of power. They excuse violations of constitutional protections under the false banner of “security.”
Then, as if that were not enough, you signed onto a legal brief that would end birthright citizenship. That is a direct attack on the Constitution and on generations of Americans whose citizenship is not conditional, provisional, or subject to political whims. Undermining birthright citizenship destabilizes families, creates permanent second class residents, and opens the door to government deciding who is “American enough.” That is not conservatism. That is authoritarianism.
You do not speak for Ohioans who believe in civil liberties, the rule of law, and equal protection under the Constitution. Leadership is supposed to protect people from government overreach, not cheer it on.
I look forward to the day you are voted out of office, because your words and actions make it clear you are not serving the people of Ohio. You are serving an agenda that harms them. https://resist.bot/letters/dba9820b-4d28-453c-a2f5-f324c6d39e64
