I had the absolute joy of bringing my excellent 2nd-year 'Art & Devotion in the Middle Ages & Renaissance' students @bbkhistorical.bsky.social to the V&A today to examine a myriad of objects. We paid particular attention to materiality, asking what we can learn from the object itself. 🔍

Devastated that the Centre for Lifelong Learning @york.ac.uk is being closed after 40 years. What a loss to education in the region. Feel for students and staff. Being a tutor has been joy, doing what universities should be doing by sharing knowledge widely with our communities.

This is very sad news. Many of us who have recently finished or are finishing our PhDs at York were looking forward to contributing to the CLL. It offered us the wonderful opportunity to develop and teach a module on our specialism.

With the end of spring here, I figure it’s time to return to social media and to share the good news I’ve been sitting on from earlier this season... I passed my viva! ✨ I am incredibly grateful to my generous examiners, Hanna Vorholt and @alixebovey.bsky.social for such a stimulating discussion!
