(1/2) Welp, it's official! The time, in days, between Half-life 1 completing development and being sent for manufacturing, and Half-life 2 releasing (November 9, 1998 - November 16th, 2004) is now equal to the release of Half-life Alyx to today. 2199 days.

(1/6) 35 Years ago, today: Monday, April 1st, 1991, John Carmack began development on id software's first 3D game engine, using Raycasting technology. Their first project with this engine would be 'Hovertank` [`One`/`3D`], their first FPS game. The beginning of the modern FPS revolution.

My predictions for Quakecon 2026: Nightdive Remasters: Quake 3, almost certainly. Hexen 2, considering it's the 30th anniversary, I feel that there COULD be more than one, but I'm not sure. Hexen 2 would be the most likely. I'm not particularly excited for a Quake 3, but I'm excited for others.

I'm so easily demotivated, it's exhausting 🫩 I am fucking done with the tedium, the repetition and not knowing what the fuck I'm even working towards. I don't think I know who I am anymore.

Okay, so, after I think one of the worst days of my life, yesterday, I think I've decided that once my contract is over and I'm back home, I'm heading to university. I think that's the only logical course for me.

Welp. It's official. I am shit at my job... There's no other way to view it. I am just straight up useless and incompetent. Today has been, I think, the worst day I have ever had so far in my life. Without question. I have failed at every task. I have proven my inability.

I'm desperately looking for something to be excited or happy about. Something to keep me going. But it's a serious struggle at the moment. There's very little left to make me smile. And I'm spoilt for choice of things to make me weep.

FunFactF̶r̶i̶d̶a̶y̶Thursday! I have official been a #PC-Gamer™ for a decade. December 25th, 2015. Only the original case and primary HDD remain. Everything else was replaced. The first game I launched on that build was Half-Life 1, but I had launched a few other games on a family laptop before this.

I clearly have zero idea as to how this world is, or even should be run. Not in the foggiest. Because if I did have even the slightest of a vaguely correct mindset in any way, then I would not feel the way I currently do about the way it is run at the moment. There must be something wrong with me.
