I have to express my love for both of Yama Wayama’s series. Both “Let’s Go Karaoke!” and “Captivated, by You” were charmingly hilarious. The relationships are so unique and intimate, but not quite romantic. Despite each series being only 4-5 episodes, I was endeared and attached to every character.

I wanted to celebrate Tsukki’s birthday with the bestie and was a little disappointed I had plans tonight, but really what’s a more Tsukishima way to celebrate than to go to a concert by myself to see my favorite band from high school play a show for the first time in almost 15 years?

I saw something going around on TikTok about a call for everyone to watch Yuri on Ice on September 20th to convince Mappa to do another season. I know it won’t work but it’s what Bokuto would want so I’m doing my due diligence 🫡

At Saboten Con this weekend I cosplayed Hanako-kun, got some cute Haikyuu stuff, won’t an anime name that tune contest and got an 8x10 from the English voice of Hinata (even though I don’t really fw the dub shhhh)

I just registered for the JLPT N4 in LA in December! I had heard that seats sell out in a matter of minutes so I am very relieved 😌

Ruri Rocks made me cry this week! So many parents mean well when they imagine a future for their kids that they think means stability, when it’s really a disinterest in what makes their child happy and lack of effort to know them. “It’s not all easy, but you’ll find your people along the way”

Added this to my weekly watch lineup last week (as if I didn’t have enough titles already…) but I am so glad I did! There’s so many good comfy slice of life anime this season, but the quirky comedy of this one makes it extra special

When a new anime season starts, I usually watch the first 3 episodes of literally everything that looks interesting to me and then drop a few of my least favorites after that. This season I’ve watched 13 new series, and 9 continuing series on season 2 or 3. I’m….gonna have to make some cuts 😅

Takopi’s Original Sin still has one episode left, but I’m ready to give it a 10/10. Its animation style conveys such powerful feelings, both disturbing but moving. Big trigger warning for suicide and emotional abuse as the series paints a heartbreakingly accurate portrayal of generational trauma

Mentally I’m here (the Haikyuu room at Obonai Ryokan)

For the last two weeks, I’ve been shoving various meds down this boy’s throat twice a day(he gags and it makes me sad!), putting him in a carrier and taking him to the clinic, and generally stressing him out. And yet he still chooses to trust me and curl up with me on the couch while I work all day💚

Osamu employed Alphonse at Onigiri Miya so he can finally start paying me rent

I designed these press on nails and got my nail tech in Osaka to paint them before I left. Wearing them to celebrate the start of the summer anime season and the two series I’m most excited to watch! #dandadan #jibakushounenhanakokun

I was so disappointed when they didn’t show the new Dandadan opening during the theatrical screening, but it was worth the wait. It’s so sentimental and I’m so excited to be reunited with my weird little friends!

My Saturday night: Phone case craft time and Haikyuu Guess Who

Any watch recommendations for the summer anime season? I saw some people excited about season 2 of My Dress Up Darling so I started watching the first season. I was excited about the cosplay and sewing aspect of it but I think the fan service is a little too heavy handed for me…

I’ve been watching the stage play DVDs I brought back from Japan and they bring me so much joy. Favorite bits so far: rap battle with Dateko, Tsukishima and Kageyama voguing after their play scores a point, and Hinata suspended from a cable doing aerial acrobatics

Despite not really falling in love with it until episode 4, Witch Watch was my clear favorite series this anime season! Every episode made me laugh out loud and the entire cast of characters are so endearing that I feel invested in their happiness 💚
