Here I am at St. John’s Memorial Stadium broadcasting live prior to the first home game of the St. John’s Maple Leafs (a.k.a. Baby Leafs) on Oct. 10, 1991. Many of us have many good memories of the old rink. The Leafs defeated the Moncton Hawks 7 - 4.

My book, Openly Karl, is now included in the archives, and also the lending library of the LGBTQIA+ Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library of the United States. Invited by Stonewall Museum’s Board Chair, Don Oravec (R), I presented copies of Openly Karl to President and CEO, Robert Kesten.

Today and always we must remember the Holocaust. The Nazi persecution and murder of six million Jews, and also Roma, Sinti, Soviet POWs, Poles, the disabled, Jehovah's Witnesses, and homosexuals. There are no words to sufficiently describe the depth of evil witnessed during that dark era.

We remember and honour our 158 Canadian Armed Forces members who died serving in Afghanistan as part of the NATO-led mission. And, the diplomat, journalist, and contractors who also lost their lives.
