A big congratulations to LDM grad student, Shannon, who will be spending July at the Diverse Intelligences Summer Institute in St Andrews, Scotland! The program brings together scholars from a range of backgrounds to tackle questions about intelligence, mind and cognition.

This month, we said goodbye to our postdoc, Dr. Yi Lin, who has been a massive part of the LDM team for the past 5 years (!!) Thank you, Yi, for your wisdom, patience and kindness. You have been such a huge part of the team and we would not be where we are now without you. 💜🧋

We are very excited to have our summer research assistants back in the lab this! Over the past month, they have been training to help support studies, coding looking time and contacting families about our new studies. We look forward to another awesome summer! 🌞

The LDM is excited to announce that grad student, Mohit Mukherji, has had both a paper and a talk accepted for this year's meeting of the Cognitive Science Society! Mohit will be speaking about his PhD work on the different biases that shape adult word extension. More information to come!

Last Friday, 3/14, the LDM celebrated our love for math and learning with, of course—pie! Our research explores how children understand geometry, shapes, patterns and spaces, all of which are key to mathematic reasoning. What better way to honor π than with some delicious treats?

Next up in our "Research Assistant Spotlight Series", we have Keyin! Keyin is a Senior, majoring in psychology and minoring in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. She is particularly interested in the work our lab is doing on how infants navigate social environments!

This Saturday and Sunday, the LDM team will be at the National Museum of Mathematics from 10 am-5 pm! MoMath will also be offering free admission to the museum on Sunday from 10am-1pm! We will have games for 3, 5, and 6-year-old child scientists. We hope to see you there! 👏🧠

First up in our "Research Assistant Spotlight Series" this semester, we have Kaylee! Kaylee is a Freshman double majoring in Applied Psychology and Education. Kaylee is interested in learning how we can use cognition research to improve educational resources for underrepresented learners.

On Monday, LDM PhD student, Mohit Mukherji, presented at the NYU Minds, Brains and Machines Poster Conference! He showed his work on word-learning and agents. We loved seeing all the posters and learning more the intersection between neuroscience, cognitive science, and AI! 🧠🤖

The LDM is excited to announce that we will have two presenters at the 49th Annual Boston University Conference on Language Development! We will be posting more information about timings as the conference approaches. We are so proud and excited for our researchers!

Last Friday, we celebrated the LDM's 7th Birthday! It was an afternoon filled with fun party games, lots of laughter, and yummy macarons! We are so grateful for the incredible LDM family of researchers and child scientists we have built over the years. Excited for year #8! 🥳
