I am growing increasingly convinced that the missing method of teaching (yourself) linear algebra is to leverage widgets in Python notebooks. A matrix is a cool user interface if you think about it, I even made an elaborate video to explain why!

Hah! Who knew. Learning VIM motions is pretty fun! I'm sure it takes a while to fully master, but it's actually more fun than I thought it would be. You don't even need to use nvim, it also works in VSCode, marimo and plenty of other places.

I just wanted to take the time to celebrate things like this. There's *so much* potential for new math/data/tensor/ai tools in Python.

The titanic dataset, as it turns out, has a twist! The "hello world"-dataset of data science can be modelled in a lot of ways, but my favourite is to pick a single column, yes one single column, and to pass that to a linear model. Works nearly as well as a boosted forest!

I have been trending on hackernews and this is bringing me close to a paid tier at my static hosting provider. While investigating this, I noticed that the @subtackinc iframe for signups pulls in 3.2 MB. Wut? Does anybody know why this is remotely needed?
