Question: What details makes pixel graphics look ‘converted’ vs ‘hand pixelled’? I know Floyd–Steinberg dithering, Ordered 4x4 dithering, etc, will give it away, but what other details do you pick up on?

Using the k-means clustering algorithm to find a palette from an image, and then, using k-means clustering again on the palette grouping the colors into color ramps:

Today, the strangest thing happened. Xcode predictive code completion actually suggested some code (one line, but still) that actually really worked! :)

Testing out a new idea for determining which colors in a palette can be mixed in dithering, looking a distance in luma (Y) and chroma (UV) individually. Just research for now. 128x128, 12bit RGB, 16 colors.

So, I once made a mobile game called Danger Grid. It was my side project for like 6-7 years. It was great fun but also way too much work for one #indiedev. It finally shipped in a 90% finished state, as I could simply not invest more time into it. I often imagine making a sequel though :)

Interpolating colors, sRGB color space vs. LAB. Supposedly HCL is also good for color interpolation, but in my own unscientific research I just think LAB looked better.

Can you merge someone’s personal iCloud storage into a shared iCloud Family storage? And then cancel the personal iCloud. And not losing data/photos in the process obviously :) #Apple

Amiga 600, why did you put the mouse port there? With the cable in a tangle over the mouse pad? Not saving much desk space that way.. :)

IKEA hack: A cheap 40x40cm Ikea METOD kitchen cabinet cut in half, actually makes a nice c64 monitor stand with a shelf. Cutting MDF was tricky though. Happy how it turned out 📺

Gravity Force on Amiga, two player mode, I spent so many hours on that game. Would be fun to do a remake one day 🕹️🙂

moving my projects from BitBucket/SourceTree to GitHub/Desktop, so far all good. In the cleanup, I've made my old 6502 assembler written in Python a public repo (morty40/code64) in case someone finds it useful 🙈

Some palette colours will mix nicely, some won't. Currently working on this colourful little dialog box, for selecting which to use. It looks a bit confusing a first, I admit :)
