Bought a copy of Tim Sales sketchbook from @travellingmanuk.bsky.social at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social and just got round to reading it, only to find it had a sketch and dedication inside, hoping I haven't swiped someones sketchbook!

First piece of 2025 done spent some time trying to work on colouring and rendering - may go back and finish shell but need to leave it for now.

Went to make myself a cup of tea, filled the kettle, put the bag and sugar in cup. Got a spoon. Got the milk ready. Pour the water. Bags not brewing. Thinking what the fucks happening here?? Yeah…so…it helps to actually turn the kettle on and boil the fucking water first doesn’t it.

Finally watched Wolfs and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, film 2025 off to a good start

The closest I’ll come to having an artist edition. This is an absolute belter of a book showing off Dragottas art beautifully. Also relit the eBay bug for finding some hidden gems to collect. Hoping DC do more Noir editions of books.

Question for the comic artists: with the plethora of digital inking brushes available how do you go about choosing which brush/texture/feel to go for? So far some of the textures aren’t intuitive to use, some of the fun ones don’t fit a ‘look’ - any advice please?

I was thinking that having a stationary section in comic book stores might be a good experiment surely people coming in end up inspired to create and shifting some sketchbooks notebooks and appropriate art supplies could be a good earner. Going to a lcs for comics, books, and the stuff to make them?
