On monday, after 76 years of a beautiful life the man who taught me everything lost his battle with cancer. He passed peacefully in his sleep. I never knew a man who wanted to love and be friendly as much as he did. I’ll never forget all the moments I had with him. I have him to thank for who I am.

Yesterday marked the last day of my dogs life, after the shortest 9 years of my life my companion couldn’t fight any longer. I’ve never had a dog like Belle and I doubt I ever will. She brought so much joy into my life and it’ll never be the same without her.

It sammich time.

Not much progress on my hammer handle, but we’re getting there slowly. Most time was spent aligning things and fixing damaged parts on my assigned lathe, but I got it threaded up and did the layout for the rest of what I have to do. That time of month again! Airsoft time Plan for today was to go out and play all day regardless of weather A friend lent me their APR and let me loose on the field. Another day of using the Lathe on aluminum! While it is annoying getting it fully true in the three jaw chuck, I find great pleasure in watching it spin. When I was done, I had done two chamfers, turned down one side to a .622 diameter and parted the same side to a diameter of .53 #millwright

A yummy day indeed! What better way to cope with stress than to cook it out! Baked some delicious chocolate chip cookies, my best batch so far, they pull apart so easily an the chocolate is so gooey! Dinner was less exciting, my fried potatoes, quinoa, peas and meatballs :p

Voting day in Ontario, It can get pretty stressful so I decided to channel some of that stress. To calm down I focused on my cooking. A simple stir fry and some classic pasta and sauce. Both homemade and fairly spicy. Getting the hang of this cooking with spices and herbs stuff.

Dismantled a pump with my team today, we had the largest and most complex pump to dismantle and while we didn’t pull it all apart, I got to see some fun stuff! #Millwright #Student #Canada

Gwilled cheese Did something new and cooked it in a nonstick pan, also threw a slice of ham and a dash of cayenne pepper in it. It was delicious but if I did it again I’d use some different cheeses and use more cayenne

After a month of waiting, I finally have a new fork from MAGNUM. Took some time to rebuild the bike, but it feels good as new!

Started cleaning up my dad’s old Richards Linoleum knife. Also added yet another cutting edge.

Dinner was much less appetizing, An Al dante Spaghetti with a homemade tomato sauce, made from “fresh” Cherry tomatoes, fresh minced garlic and oregano topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. The specific cherry tomatoes I used were a little too sweet for my tastes, but it was still delicious

More cooking!~ Breakfast for today was pan fried mini russets and quinoa; boiled and then lightly cooked in a pan. Of course the obligatory morning caffeine in the form of peach tea with a dash of sugar
