A great film that manages to be gruesome, hilarious and beautiful at the same time. Exquisite production design, in-your-face 3-D splatter and each time Udo Kier rants about his laboratory it comes out sounding like "lavatory" - yet somehow this never detracts from the film's dark fairytale spell.
