I'm really enjoying Pokopia, but I have terrible ADHD brain while playing it, and can play for hours not accomplishing a damn thing.

Unpopular opinion (?): While Metal Gear Solid draws inspiration from tons of movies, I just don't think it would translate well in a restrictive film format. The story and characters will be there, but you will lose so much of the nuance that makes it a complete MGS experience.

Game #6 Completed in 2026: The Last of Us: Part 1! While everyone else is talking about that -other- zombie game, I wrapped up playing this one. This is the best way to play one of the best games ever made, but I still question if this remake was really necessary.

Game #3 Completed in 2026: RDR: Undead Nightmare! This remains one of the best expansions ever released, if only for the excellent attempt of turning a beloved gaming experience into something completely new. I loved it back when it released, and I still think it's a must play.

Game #2 Completed in 2026: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! Undoubtedly the most talked about game of last year, and with good reason. It's a gorgeous game with an introspective, philosophical storyline, along with a modern take on classic, turn-based RPG combat. I have several thoughts.

Game #1 Completed in 2026: Final Fantasy V! Before I set out to do my "History of Final Fantasy" series, this was the only mainline game I hadn't completed before. After more than a year, I've now finished it on Super Famicom, PS1, GBA, and--just now--the Pixel Remaster! Video coming soon!

I guarantee it will happen, even if it's 20 years from now without the Duffer Brothers. The appeal of making a 90s or 00s Stranger Things with the actors older, probably with children of their own, will be too hard for Netflix to pass up.

This is yet another year I cannot name a personal GotY because I barely played anything released this year. If I had to name one, it would be Silent Hill f. For me, it exceeded my expectations, delivering a terrifying action-horror experience that enriches the franchise's lore.

Game #20 Completed in 2025: Red Dead Redemption! It's been about 10 years since I last played this. It remains among my favorite games ever due to having incredible gameplay, compelling characters, and taking players on an emotional journey through the last days of the wild west.

I know that there are some crazy Soulsbourne games out there, but I honestly would love one where you play as Santa Claus and you're fighting disfigured elves, abominable snowmen, Krampus, the witch La Befana, the Welsh creature Mari Lywd, and other holiday beings.

Great game design needs to be recognized and celebrated, not tarnished by cheap accusations of AI use. One of the most dangerous things about AI currently is that it's still not always easy to prove its use, which in turn becomes hard to deflect accusations without revealing the "secret recipe."
