We started buying beeswax from a bee farm instead of a candle supply shop. When it comes straight from the hive, it still has hive detritus, which has to be filtered. I find it oddly satisfying when we clean the melting pot nozzle and see exactly how much stuff got trapped in the initial filter.

Here's the first test pour and color comparison for the new batch of beeswax we talked about. It's produced some absolutely beautiful results. The color is so much richer, less translucent, and really makes the molded details of the candle stand out more. Restocking is underway!

It always smells soooo good when the beeswax is melting. It's not usually a strong scent, but when several pounds of it is melting in the pot, the whole kitchen smells like honey. 🍯🐝
