Wires in my brain don’t quite connect like most people’s. While waiting for a flight there was a young man softly playing his guitar in the background, beautifully I might add. No, he wasn’t playing song “Killing me Softly…” but in my head that’s what made the connection.

Football beyond the NFL has really been shaken up over the past couple of weeks. The CFL made major changes to their field dimensions, goal post location, & some rule adjustments. Then this week the UFL identifies three of its current cities that it won’t be returning to. Things are a changing!

So, back to football news that happens on the field instead of to it.

Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown. Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

That was a statement win for Winnipeg while TiCat fans simply hoping it was an anomaly.

The league is coming to that do or die part of the season.

I’ve read a lot of negative comments regarding the CFL rule changes announced today. I understand those who grew up with the CFL being reluctant. However, rule changes were modest IMO. As for the field change, that one I believe is making it easier for expansion. MLS stadiums are now in play.

Oh those wild CFL finishes never stop being fun to watch!

Race to the playoffs heats up! Still wide open.

Edmonton-Toronto finish… & that’s why I like the CFL!

Those playoff spots are tightening up a bit.

Busy day yesterday & I rushed putting this out yesterday, so this morning I had to dress it up a bit more. I know, it’s nothing important to anyone, but it bugged me.

Seemed just a few weeks ago things were looking a bit bleak for a few teams. Now it’s anybody’s playoffs.

The perfect example of “It ain’t over ‘til it’s over”

& the race tightens!

Wasn’t any deaf, dumb, or blind kid in this one Toronto was lighting things up.

It’s been a rough road for Edmonton fans but it looks like things are getting better.

I imagine Montreal starting their 4th string quarterback kind of took the suspense out of this one.

The race is on! Nine teams, six spots, it’s still fluid & anybody can make a run for the playoffs.

How good was this week? It was AWESOME!

This isn’t the kind of football that’s called the beautiful game, that’s soccer. So, does that make this football the ugly game. Well, Friday’s game leaned a bit that way, but for Edmonton the result was beautiful thing enjoy since they don’t get many. now 2 & 6 there’s a little hope… maybe?

It’s CFL Thursday Night Football at its best.

It wasn’t the best game this year. The Stampeders were without their starting quarterback & his backup, PJ Walkers, is new to the CFL. Appeared the 12th defenders really threw him off.

If you saw it know what it’s about. If you missed it… well it was one of the most amazing interceptions ever made. The craziest thing about it though is that it was a rookie, Robert Carter Jr., & there’s video of him in college doing it to.

& there you have it!

Edmonton’s O-Line working on pass protection must include yelling “WATCH OUT” as they watch the defense run past them.

One done. It was a very good game. Calgary had several players go down but they were playing well on both sides of the ball until Vernon’s concussion. After he left the game the offense simply came to a screeching halt.

Attended my grandsons’ swim meet yesterday, so took the ancient tools of paper & pencil to entertain myself between events. Yes, I’m easily entertained.

That wraps up this week of the CFL, but there’s a lot of season left to play. If you enjoy football with a little variety in the rules & style of play it’s something worth tuning into. Still plenty of season remaining to enjoy.

Winnipeg & Calgary put on a great first half, but injury blew up the Bombers attack.

If you didn’t watch you missed an exciting one. Imagine this loss really puts the Argos’ season under water.

No game Thursday, but we can still enjoy the CFL by sharing our experiences & how we enjoy the league beyond the game on the field.

Things are tightening up in the CFL.

Only one undefeated team to keep your eye on this week. So, here’s my thoughts for the upcoming games.

Football’s never been more fun & some of it is just simply crazy. Week 4 is done, but plenty still to come.
