UK THUNDERSTORM RISK 13/14JUNE 2025 An Amber warning has been issued in SE England tonight from 8pm to 5am tomorrow morning. Some disruption is likely within this area, with flooding likely, power cuts and potential damage to buildings.

Some thunderstorms developing in Wales currently, along with some in NE England.

Along with the high temperatures today, some thunderstorms are likely to develop. 30°c possible in London, temperatures will likely significantly drop to more near average after the next couple days.

STORM POTENTIAL NEXT SATURDAY Models have seemed to show a potential risk of strong gusts in the UK next weekend. A low pressure would pass the UK, thus bringing the risk of heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts. We will need more model runs. These models are ECMWF and GFS.

Colder Weather Monday-Tuesday Risk of snowfall Monday-Wednesday for North England and Scotland Temepratures look likely to be 2-4oc widespread for N England Tuesday lunchtime. Looks likely to be mostly rain on lower ground than snow, but sleet/snow can’t be ruled out.

RAINFALL OUTLOOK 28NOV-29NOV Rainfall will affect Ireland, moving into W Scotland today. <20mm for most areas in very light blue, 20-30mm likely in the very West of Scotland and W Ireland. Some rainfall likely in the SW into parts of Wales, rainfall also likely in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Some of last nights lightning strikes Cardiff was eventually hit with multiple storms, multiple storms occurred across the SE and SW, but often didn’t survive until land. I’d rate the forecast 8/10, lightning IN land occurred mostly in the highest risk zone.

UK STORM RISK | EVENING Heavy showers are likely to continue developing throughout the night, this will bring a risk of lightning. This will likely be sporadic in nature, the chance of organised thunderstorms is very low. Wales, Cornwall, Southwest, South is at risk of storms tonight.

After reviewing my last post, I think I will extend the snow possibility risk a bit more in NW England.

Snow showers are now passing into North West England, these may be sleety in nature, especially on lower ground/near sea. These will travel southern and could travel as far as Northern London, but this is isn’t very likely. North/Mid Wales will also be affected by these wintry showers.
