Eucopina siskiyouana Fir Cone Borer Larvae of this moth species feeds in cones of white fir (Abies concolor) and other species. Found this adult moth at the base of a fir tree in Mendocino National Forest. Second photo highlights the complex arrangement of the scales on its forewing.
