There are many blind houses in Wiltshire; 18th c. village lockups, used to temporarily incarcerate drunks and trouble makers. This one is in Trowbridge. They are called this because there are no windows. Or could it also be because of the term 'blind drunk?'

Pug’s Hole, Bowerchalke There is a thorn bush that grows in the shape of a garden seat. It is nestled into a dip on the hills and is known as Pug’s Hole. On dark nights, a voice is said to call out, 'I want to go home'. It's the voice of a shepherd who was lost up there on a snowy night. 👻

The "Odeon" in Salisbury, England. Hosted in a grade I Listed building, built as Ye Halle of John Halle, a Tudor Gothic style building which was originally built around 1470. The auditorium (built in 1931) is in a Tudor style, with seating for 1,125 in the stalls and 550 in the circle. #cinema

This Wiltshire meteorite has been on earth for 30 000 years. It is over 4.5 billion yrs old and comes from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. For the last 100 years it was used as a doorstop at Lake House! Thankfully it’s now been rescued from the doorstep! ☄️⭐️🪐⭐️☄️

Six Wells Valley 🧵 Me and the dog gang went to find the source of the River Stour in the medieval landscape of Six Wells Valley. Only one of the springs remain now, at St Peter's Pump, which has marked the spot since 1768, having been moved from St Peter's Church in Bristol (it's dated to 1474).

Just to clear this up as I only just found out myself! Midsummer is different to summer solstice. Solstice is an astrological event (marking the longest day of the year). Midsummer is a cultural celebration held around the same time in Nordic countries. So, there we go! Happy Midsummer all! 🌼🌞🌸

On the dawn of the Summer Solstice, from the West Kennett Long Barrow at Avebury, a ghostly figure of a man emerges in white robes. Accompanying him is a large white hound with red tipped ears. Some say he is a dog of the Fae. The companions stand silently and motionless atop the barrow facing east.

I’ve managed to extract myself from Wiltshire and come to Croatia! 🇭🇷 In Pula I visited the 1st century Roman amphitheatre, the Arena. It’s amazing! Of course, my first thoughts- is it haunted?! It must be! But I cannot find any info so the imagination must suffice this time! 👻

Spotted off the Cornish coast at Falmouth a few years back. A rare case of Fata Morgana, a mirage caused by special atmospheric conditions that cause light to bend. So, whilst explained by science, it's still pretty strange!
