Randy's town had a festival called Heso Matsuri. Different groups, companies, teams, etc got together to paint faces on their bellies and do a dance around town. Amazing experience, and there were tons of vendors and stuff around the area. This is the Japan experience I've been craving. Ty Shibukawa

Super busy trip this time and haven't had time to post updates. Incredible trip so far, we've been moving around constantly and did tons of stuff in Osaka, kobe, kyoto, mt. Fuji. Currently in Gunma for a festival in Randy's town, staying at a historical Onsen town. Beautiful and full of history

Last full day in japan. Trying to tick off all the boxes left, but somehow forgot cup ramen museum again 😭. Yokohama Chinatown runback, food stalls go crazy here. Doing last minute shopping into standing sushi for a send off dinner. Heading back tommorow afternoon 🫡

Late post from yesterday. Ameyoko near ueno isn't just american stuff. They got rly good chinese restaurants apparently. Lamb skewers cooked table side is pretty fire, so wish this exists in canada. There's a nice Buddhist shrine in the middle too.

There's a bar in okachimachi that let's you bring in cards and the bartender will create a drink to go with it. I brought my boy avramax and got a pretty sweet looking drink. Every sip is a taste of the whole world legacy lore 😋

Last day before 2 party members need to go. Went to meguro for cherry blossoms at a good river spot. Not too much left but there was a festival at a temple, and a couple cool museums. This trip is nearing its end but this experience will last forever. Thanks boys its been sick.

Day trip to yokohama. Started in chinatown for some street food into isezakicho. Super cool irl, and a lot bigger than what LAD's version of it is. For ottawa peeps it's basically like if sparks street had cooler things, was next to Koreatown and was 25x the size (1/2)

Shimokitazawa day trip yesterday, managed to pick up a few new outfits. Shimokita stays way better than harajuku in almost every way. Every store has its own style, way less people around, and relatively cheaper than popular areas in Tokyo (1/2)

Alstroemeria records concert in Shibuya ❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ I've been a huge fan for over a decade, so this is no exaggeration one of the coolest moments ever for me. I can die happy now.

Holy shit it's the Greatest of GOATs. Also sick figures at a shinjuku popup and last minute beef tongue in sendai before we left.

Big statue was cool but wandering around downtown into the first izakaya outing was even better. Going back to tokyo today to meet up with Randy. Karaoke is gonna go hard

Rainy day again, ducked into the nearby malls then straight into the Sendai aquarium. They had a bunch of shows for free too, ft some cool sea lion and dolphins. There was also an axolotl but it really didn't want to have pics taken 😔

First day in Sendai, walking around the castle area. The smaller city vibes is pretty cool but it's still got the jp style. Very chill overall, much needed after the trip to get here. Finished the day showing conveyer belt sushi to the boys and checking out a big outdoor mall

Big trip to Sendai starts today. Stopped by a fox village in Zao, winds were crazy in the mountains and these lil guys were just chilling. A bit far but definitely worth it. Staying at a ryokan in Akiu and trying the famed Sendai beef tongue. (1/2)

Raining in Tokyo the whole day so we took it easy before going to sendai. Haven't posted much food yet so here's various meals we've had so far. Nothing fancy but all of these were around or under 10 bucks. Never can get tired of this 😋

Day 2, taking the boys to marunouchi into odaiba, way too much stuff to do and didn't get to explore fully. Ended the night at teamlabs which was definitely a rly interesting experience. Vids in the thread (1/3)
