I really hate the modern trend in fiction of explaining everything. Dune was better without prequels. Horrors don’t need villain origin stories. It’s okay to leave things unsaid. Imagine if Solaris or The Martian Chronicles had alien backstory spinoffs.

I can’t quite figure out who the Leica M EV1 is aimed at. If the rangefinder’s getting harder to use (say, eyes are getting worse), most people would just stick a Visoflex on their M11, right? How big is the audience that loves manual focus but hates rangefinders and wants focus peaking instead?

RX1R is back! So happy about the fixed-lens cameras having such a massive comeback. And with Sony now back in play, it should get really interesting. It seems to have the same sensor as Q3, but the camera is much smaller and lighter. No mention of IBIS, though electronics.sony.com/imaging/comp...

Here is a dilemma. I love my Leica M11 – it makes me slow down, think about focus and framing, but I often miss the shot. My Q3 43’s autofocus and flip-screen are perfect for quick snaps – but I end up spray-and-praying, and often get mediocre pictures. Which one should I pack for the next trip?

Took some pictures with CineGold filter today. It’s marketed as a “vintage look” filter for summer shots, and boy, does it deliver! I like mist filters, but this is the first gold mist filter I tried. I think it is great for the retro vibes, especially for photos taken in bright sun.

Just wrapped up the main story in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma – took me about 40 hours. Now onto leveling up the villages, deepening bonds, and running all the festivals. Still tons to do, and I’m loving every minute.

I love everything about the Fuji X-E5 – it’s tiny, but still packs a mechanical shutter and IBIS. Everyone’s suggesting the 23mm kit lens to mimic the X100, but I’d go with the 35mm f/2. It turns the X-E5 into a compact street/portrait beast – Fuji’s take on the Leica Q3 43.

After six months without any major updates to Arc Browser, I’ve started looking for alternatives. Zen Browser is the most promising so far – minimalist, workspace-focused, and actively developed (by one person, impressively). Still early days: no tab sync, no sidebar folders yet.
