Today is exactly 2 years since I was discharged from the psych ward that I was sectioned at The 1st pic is from the day I was put on a section 3, the 2nd pic is 2 years later (now!) Can’t believe how far I’ve come… healthy, thriving, soon-to-be doctor. Things can get better.

I’m currently applying to a masters course (part time + distance learning) Has anyone else managed a part time/distance course during foundation years? & has anyone received postgrad loans for this? I’m pretty keen to study this course and to start this coming academic year

Today I found out that I have passed my medical school finals… I really did it. I’m really Dr Julia now 👩🏻‍⚕️🩺 2 years ago I was sectioned in hospital with schizophrenia - this dream career felt so far away. But I’ve done it. I couldn’t be happier right now🥰

Thoroughly fed up that 2 of my 5 days in Tokyo have been ruined because I’ve had ?food poisoning and haven’t been able to leave my bed I mainly came here to eat lots of good Japanese food too, but currently I have absolutely zero appetite 😭

Med school has made me unable to go on flights without wearing compression stockings. Convinced I’ll get DVT if I don’t 🥲

Positives: Tokyo-bound 🗼🇯🇵🗾 Negatives: Paid almost 4 quid for a Coke Zero at Heathrow. Daylight robbery.

Going to my parents house, a ~2.5 hour drive from mine Realised 45 mins into the journey I wasn’t sure if I had packed my iPad Couldn’t find it in my bag, so drove back to pick it up Except it wasn’t in my house. It was, in fact, in my bag the whole time 🤦🏻‍♀️ thanks adhd brain

I have officially had my last OSLER and have finished my med school finals (pending results)!! And it’s my birthday 🥰🎂🎉🥳 On top of the world right now

When I was a kid I used to go to pony camp in summer, where we’d camp outside & go horse riding every day without a care or worry in the world Fr I took living like that for granted, I wish I could just be outdoors and ride horses all day & not think about exams or adulting 🫠

Absolutely delighted to have been allocated to my first choice deanery for FY1/FY2 🥰 Let’s hope I get jobs I want too 😅

When someone asks how you’re spending Valentine’s Day but you’re a medical student

These may be a gimic idk but I’m such a sucker that I’ve obviously bought them

I fell asleep briefly while revising this afternoon and it seems that even in my dreams I am doing Passmed questions

Before I started medical school I had no idea how much time I’d end up thinking about sodium

Whenever I have exams, my Nana always says she’ll pray to St Jude for me Sounds cute, right? …. Oh.

I haven’t even started working yet but, as a disabled soon-to-be doc, the UKFPO has already let me down I applied for preallocation for disability but, despite their acknowledgement that it would be beneficial for me, I was rejected as the proof of address i gave was invalid

Exactly 2 years ago I was sectioned and spent 3 months in an acute psych ward for my schizophrenia My life has totally turned around I’m on a medication that has kept me stable now for a while & I’m about to sit my finals and complete medical school Things do get better

Doing research on my upcoming trip to Seoul (mainly watching TikToks) & it’s taking so much self-restraint not to book 18-step skin and hair analysis & treatments and colour analyses. I’m such a sucker

Have I done much revision today? No, not as much as I should have Have I booked and spent time organising my two week holiday to Tokyo and Seoul? Yes!! Leaving to go 3 days after finals finish 🥰🥰🥰🇰🇷🇯🇵
