I think the thing I love most about cheap hotels is that generally you can turn off the air con and open a window. That's happened tonight. And I'm delighted.

Yes, and. I don't think Europe is quite coming to terms with extreme weather and the spectacular impacts on drought and fires and flooding that come from these extremes. It's not just about the temperatures. It's about what comes next.

Gosh Launceston is being pseudo-wintry. Rain and whistling wind. Not terribly cold, but trying to appear so. It's sort of funny to witness, as I'm peeling back the blankets.

Here's an idea. Let's not make Australia a tenant of AI, but rather capitalise on our AI research:

Question to investor about AI: what do you think about governance when employees of companies just develop agents with AI and they don't realise that their agents are exposing customer data? Paraphrased answer from investor: I think companies are just going to bed to raise their risk appetite.

Kind of sick of laying out the data to prove what has been proven over and over again. There is generational inequity. There is a debt that needs to be repaid.

Nice image to conclude David Shoebridge's interview which was far too focused on submarines, talking about older generations pulling up the ladder behind them after they were provided with so many benefits that are now not available to younger generations.

is today obsessed with submarines, rather than thinking about the future of conflict. Even with submarines you're not going to be able to use them to defend the entire coastline of the country, all the time.

Nearly at the end of my renovations after 2.5 months. It's not as long as last time, and it's nowhere near as hard. But still: I'm just feeling blessed to be at this point. And probably more importantly, I'm happy to feel that I'm here if my family needs me.

"I own my own home and I'm nervous about house prices". House prices may fall between 5-10% in Sydney and Melbourne. Over the last decade Australian property prices have increased by an average of 6.4% *per year*, *every year*.

Alan Kohler says we need at least 240,000 new homes every year over the next decade. So 420,000 new homes (even if this is achieved) is covering less than 2 years of what is needed.

420,000 new homes to be supported to be built over a decade. I wonder how many will actually be built? How about removing council control over building permits? How about building state owned homes? And how many homes will we actually need over the decade?
