This Friday, 10/3, is the Terrain 16 event in Spokane. Two of my large watercolors are part of this event at 314 W Riverside from 5 to 11 p.m. Stop by and see lots of art, hear some music, poetry and other performing events. Thursday 10/2 there is a ticketed preview event. It will be fun!

I went to the rally for the Spokane Public Schools Bond and the Spokane Parks Levy. There is crazy stuff going on in our country. I feel confident that it will be better with pre-school, trade school, playgrounds and replacement school buildings. Vote yes on November 4. www.togetherspokane.org

It’s hot in Spokane and after my pick up downtown, I decided to stop in and enjoy the air conditioning and a lemon drop martini at the Historic Davenport Hotel. Such a fabulous place that makes me feel like going back in time. Cheers on the hottest of days!

Looking west

I went to Lake Coeur D Alene this weekend to N Sid Sen which is a church camp that I have been visiting for over 25 years. It was so nice to be there with people I know and people I just met enjoying the birds, the sunset, nice conversations and a sense of community.

The Riverside State Park has some wonderful lake front. Last night I participated in the Foray for the Arts poetry picnic at the Cove. Poets, beaver, osprey, sunset. All beautiful things. @riversidestatepark

Spokane has a cool asphalt art program and this new work by Renaldo Gil Zambrano is excellent. It’s right by the playground and play field off Regal. Worth a look. South Gate neighbors rock!

I recommend everyone read the Atlantic. The latest issue is all about nuclear weapons around the world. A must read in my opinion.

Today I continue my tradition of a daily kitchen bouquet from my garden. The world may be full of confusion but beauty sustains me.

I walked all over Seattle this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed Seattle Art Fair, Olympic sculpture garden and visiting galleries. My friend asked me how I could spend so much time with art with so much else going on. Art is why and how we live. We need to live while we work to protect our very lives.

In Seattle today. Loved the Ai Wei Wei show at SAM. Timely and curious. Worth the trip.

The best thing about having wonderful flowers is you can see 5 kinds of bees and two types of hummingbirds in one short visit.
