Based on the early portion of 49ers practice, it indeed looks as if the 49ers are preparing Brock Purdy to return to his starting role Sunday at the Cardinals.

Here is the 49ers’ preliminary practice report via coach Kyle Shanahan: Limited QB Brock Purdy (toe) WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) DT Alfred Collins (hip) LB Dee Winters (both knees) Shanahan said the 49ers will have aggressive work for Purdy, as they build toward him playing.

That 64-yard FG attempt was wide left by approximately 64 yards.

CB Asante Samuel Jr., 26, coming off spinal fusion surgery in April, had a tryout with the 49ers. Kyle Shanahan said he had not gotten the report on how he looked. "We know he’s been a hell of a player, so that’s probably just to see where he’s at right now," Shanahan said.

The 49ers announced they signed DL Andrew Farmer II to the practice squad and released LB Stone Blanton.
