Volunteered at a local food shelf this morning. Observations: We didn't have eggs or single disposable razors. Both were requested. People didn't take much of the available fresh produce. First timers take less food and are more cautious & appreciative. Happy holidays folks!

These days its easy to only see the awfulness of America. But as an older woman, I see people quietly helping each other. Not in big ways, but in little daily actions. Little things add up. We can do better as a nation, by starting with our neighbors, by recognizing that Everyone is our neighbor.

This week, ICE deported Esther Soliman-Ramos from Lancaster, PA to the Phillipines. She had lived and worked here 25 years. Her crime? A traffic stop 10 years ago and ticket for not having correct child restraints. Ice report classified her as a dangerous criminal, Philippina grandmas, dangerous?

Confabulation is a memory error where a person unintentionally recalls false or distorted memories, and believes them to be accurate. It is common in persons in the early stages of dementia. People who confabulate are unaware of the inaccuracies in their speech. Hmm, who do we know who does this?

Is there a monetary reward to these masked kidnappers when they bring someone in to detention? Like a "per head" bounty? Clearly they aren't doing this for free. And I'm not convinced they all work for ICE. Someone should check into this. Someone has a list of these contractors if they are paid.

We are saddened by the sudden recent drowning death of April Wefler, the Clerical Supervisor at the Lancaster County Board of Elections in Lancaster PA. She coordinated the training for us pollworkers and made sure precincts were staffed for elections. She will be sorely missed.

Here in Lancaster Co Pa our Democrat candidate, James Malone, won a State senate seat in our fairly Republican county. He represents those of us who want to calmly work with each other to find solutions to problems. People can recognize chaos when they see it. This is a vote for reasoned solutions.
