Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is 2x World Series Champ, 4x Manager of the Year & Braves HOF Bobby Cox. He played for NYY ‘68-‘69. He managed for ATL from ‘78-81 and ‘90-‘10. His jersey #6 is retired by the Braves. He passed away today & will be missed by so many in #Bravescountry & baseball in general

In today’s 2 hour Pack Rippers meeting we reviewed most of the vocab we learned this year. We opened a package from the Reds, gave out some batting helmets donated from @gwrbi-baseball-fan.bsky.social & gave out lots and lots of cards, & traded with one another. Only 1 meeting left, I’ll miss it!

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is “Mack the Knife” Mack Jones. He played for MIL/ATL from ‘61-‘67. In his 11-year MLB career, he was a .252 hitter with 778 hits, 133 HR, 415 RBI, 485 R, 132 dbls, 31 trpls, & 65 SB in 1,002 G. He was inducted into the International League HOF in 2013

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is 3x All Star and World Series Champ Jay Howell. He played for ATL in ‘93. He also played for CIN, LAD, CHC, NYY, OAK, & TX. Playing for LAD in the 3rd game of the ‘88 NLCS against the NYM, he was ejected for having pine tar in his glove.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is current MLB WAR leader, 3x All Star, 3x Golden Glove, Silver Slugger ‘23, NL HR leader ‘23, NL RBI leader ‘23 Matt Olson. He hit the game winning HR (#301) last night. He’s batting .308 & 1.077 OPS, & leads NL in HR (13) & RBI (33) currently.

Made the drive to Vegas this weekend for my daughter’s Christmas present, the Morgan Wallen concert. If you haven’t seen him, you are missing out! He’s a heck of an entertainer.

It was awesome to see our former host home Idaho Falls Chukars player, Nicolo Pinazzi, get the opportunity to hop up to the AAA level and pick up the win on Sunday for the Salt Lake Bees. Too bad we were traveling back from Vegas and didn’t get to see him pitch live. Hopefully next time!

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is Mark Grant aka “Mud”. He played for ATL in ‘90. He also played SF, SD, SEA, HOU & COL. He’s also been the long time color commentator for the San Diego Padres.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is Ken Johnson. He played for MIL/ATL from ‘65-‘69. He is the only pitcher to lose a complete game nine-inning no-hitter. With the Braves he won 45 games, lost 34, & put up a strong 3.22 earned run average in three full campaigns & parts of two others.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is 2x World Series Champ & Golden Glove winner(‘69) Clete Boyer. He played for ATL ‘67-‘71. In ‘67 he had his best offensive season. He established career highs in HR (26) & RBIs (96) in a lineup that featured the likes of Aaron, Torre, Alou, & Jones.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is Jim Beauchamp. He played for MIL/ATL in ‘65 & ‘67. He managed the Greenville Braves from ‘85-‘87, the Richmond Braves from ‘88-‘90. From ‘91-‘01 he was the ATL bench coach, and after 2002 he was the team's minor league outfield coordinator.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is Tony Graffanino. He played for ATL from ‘96-‘98. He also played for my local team which were the Idaho Falls Braves in ‘91. He played for TB, CWS, KC, BOS, MIL and CLE too. He had just 481 strikeouts in 2787 big-league at-bats & a career .336 OBP.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is Caribbean HOF Geronimo Berroa. He played for ATL from ‘89-‘90. He was picked up by the ATL in the rule 5 draft. He spent ‘89 & a small amount of ‘90 with the Braves, & spend most of ‘90 & ‘91 with the Richmond Braves & Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

Today’s #BravesCardoftheDay is Marty Perez. He played for ATL from ‘71-‘76. In ‘71, he helped the club break the all-time Braves' record for double plays in a season with 180 and in ‘74 led NL second basemen in fielding percentage. He also played for CAL, SF, NYY & OAK.
