I get jealous of people doing well in ways that I'm not. I don't want to feel that way. I want people to be happy. I want to support them. I remind myself that these feelings are the result of my own dissatisfaction and insecurity. Another person's happiness is not the cause of my unhappiness

All emotions are temporary but strong emotions feel permanent at the time we feel them. We can remind ourselves that they will pass. If you're hungry you make a sandwich. Emotions 'want the sandwich' but hinder our ability to think of the process of making the sandwich exist.
