Thrilled to receive the Harvard Mind Brain Behavior Postdoc Fellowship! This will support my work surgically reconstructing peripheral neuromuscular physiology to bridge human and robotic control. Excited to continue this work with my advisor Dr. Shriya Srinivasan and co-mentor Dr. Matthew Carty.

Harvard today, your institution tomorrow. It's all part of the Project 2025 plan to destroy high education in America. All leading US universities depend on federal funding and tuition dollars from international students. They severely curtailed the former. Now they're eliminating the latter.

The Trump regime is now using US Attorneys to intimidate academic journals by sending them letters demanding they explain how they ensure ‘viewpoint diversity.’ Journal editors should be public about this and coordinate to refuse to comply with these fascist tactics.

The main benefit of these is that we can study ground stiffness perturbations on a fully instrumented treadmill, as well as conduct experiments overground. I'm hoping to share results from a study investigating adaptation to a stiffness perturbation applied by these shoes very soon!

Had a fantastic visit at UMass Lowell to give the Mechanical Engineering Grad Research Seminar! Loved seeing the incredible robotics and biomechanics research happening there—thanks to everyone for the great discussions and for showing me around!

They put people with zero relevant experience in charge of this, they aren't talking to the agencies to have analyses done on consequences and how to minimize unnecessary pain, they've given zero warning and zero transparency, and proposed no alternative to offset the key NIH supported work (1/2).

A while ago, we got interested in why we choose to move the way we do. Pulling from behavioral economics, we started to explore how assessments of risk influence behavior. Here, we experimentally tested whether compensatory changes in balance and gait are aligned with these risk models.

I'm excited to share our new paper "Dynamic duo: Design and validation of an autonomous frontal and sagittal actuating hip exoskeleton for balance modulation during perturbed locomotion" in IEEE Robotics & Automation Letters! Paper: ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/doc...

New preprint! We trained a neural network on dynamic muscle force recordings and showed that it can better estimate muscle forces than a Hill model. This is a first step towards more accurate muscle force estimations in human simulations as well, but a long ways to go. #biomechsky
