🟣 H&S Tip — Day 4: Safe Moving & Handling A major cause of injury in the NHS. Employers must provide training, risk assessments and equipment. Follow handling plans, use the equipment provided and never carry out unsafe lifts. Contact UNISON if procedures are unsafe 💚

🟣 H&S Tip — Day 3: Safe Staffing Saves Lives Short staffing increases pressure, stress and risk to patients. Escalate concerns, record safety issues and contact UNISON for support. Employers must monitor staffing and act when levels are unsafe 💚

🚨 New workers’ rights from the Employment Rights Act (ERA) come into force this week, including the repeal of Tory anti‑union laws that restricted collective action. From April, further changes will introduce new day one rights to paternity leave and unpaid parental leave. Read more here ⬇️

Over 440 NHS Fife staff responded. Feedback highlights serious concerns about communication, consistency and lack of consultation. We’ve shared the findings with senior management and are seeking urgent discussions. Your voice matters 💚
