A. AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteerism. From mentoring students to supporting disaster recovery, helping older adults age with dignity, and tackling other pressing needs, AmeriCorps helps communities across the country.

B. The Trump administration placed roughly 75% of full-time AmeriCorps employees on administrative leave. Reading Partners, a branch of AmeriCorps that tutors students in reading, which I volunteer for, has been put on hold.

The US is now on the CIVICUS Monitor global human rights watch list over declining civil liberties. First time ever. I'm sad for the country I've lived in and loved for almost 70 years. I'm more sad that 50% of my neighbors and co-workers voted for this. I expect good from people. ♥

My foray into memes

We've been watching the dismantling of free speech since before the inauguration when tRump sued the Des Moines Register for election interference by calling the state for Harris before the final count of ballots. I'm pissed that our Democratic leaders aren't screaming at the top of their lungs.

First thing I noticed about this social platform is that almost all posts are intelligently thought out and are written with proper spelling, good diction, correct use of upper/lower case letters and punctuation. Refreshing.
