MONDAY / MONDAY NIGHT SNOW Our next round of snow arrives Monday afternoon, lasting through the evening and then tapering off overnight. Areas near and south of I-80 will likely see 2-4" with 1-3" expected north of I-80. Expect impacts to your Monday evening commute.

Chicago airports must be a nightmare today. So far there have been over 1000 flights cancelled between ORD & MDW. O’Hare cancellations: 877 Midway cancellations: 126

Travelers at O'Hare are going to have a long day. Ground delays are averaging FIVE hours.

There is now a GROUND STOP at O'Hare until 9:30 AM.

WINTER STORM WARNING for all of Chicagoland! Snow arrives late tonight and continues all day Saturday. Most areas end up in the 6-10" rainge, but locally higher amounts are possible in our far western counties. Drizzle MAY mix in E of I-55. If that happens: 5-9" for you.

I hope you're planning to be warm and toasty INSIDE this Thanksgiving weekend, because it's sure going to be chilly outside! Plan for highs in the 30s through Sunday with wind chills no higher than the 20s. And then there's Monday... 🥶

‼️HIGH WINDS TONIGHT & WEDNESDAY‼️ A Wind Advisory goes into effect at 3 AM until 9 PM tomorrow for westerly winds gusting over 45 mph. Occasional wind gusts could be 50+mph. This in combination with scattered snow will lead to reduced visibilities and possible travel impacts.

The severe storm in Lake County (IL) is now capable of 60-65 mph winds and quarter sized hail. The Warning remains in effect until 4:30 PM.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING -- Grundy & Will Counties until 4:15 PM. A severe storm was located near Coal City moving NE at 25 mph. 60 mph wind gusts and quarter sized hail possible.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - east central Will and SE Cook County until 4 PM. A severe storm was located over Monee, or near Park Forest, moving northeast at 25 mph. 60 mph winds and quarter sized hail possible.

This past month in a nutshell... SOGGY. The map below shows the percentage of normal rainfall we've received in the last 30 days. Nearly all of Chicagoland has seen over 100% of normal rainfall amounts, and the purple shading represents 200% or higher.

MONDAY SEVERE STORM THREAT The Storm Prediction Center has parts of northern Illinois in a Slight Risk (yellow on map below, risk level 2/5) for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds are the primary concern, but isolated tornadoes are possible.

NEW FLASH FLOOD WARNING: SE DuPage County, far NE Will County, central Cook County -- Including the city of Chicago. Storms producing 2" per hour rain rates may lead to flooding. Flooding is expected to begin shortly after the onset of heavy rainfall.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING: NE Cook County until 4PM. A severe thunderstorm was located over Portage Park, or over Irving Park, moving NE at 30 mph. Wind gusts up to 60 mph possible.

NEW: A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Will, SE Grundy, NW Kankakee, and SE Cook until 3:30 PM. A line of strong storms stretching from Odell to Calumet City is moving east at 25 mph. Wind gusts to 50 mph possible with half inch hail.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT: SE Cook & Will Counties Strong storms may produce wind gusts up to 50 mph along with penny sized hail. Torrential rain and lightning are also occurring.
