I’ve noticed a recent habit in my emails. When responding to people in email, I seem to have dropped the “Dear Recipient“ portion of the exchange. I do not greet people when replying. I answer as though we were in a conversation. It feels far more natural. Am I being rude?

I love living in an RV! No taxes. No mortgage. No regrets. Just me, Tim, the dogs, and a house that moves faster than Congress.

I spent an hour yesterday thinning out my makeup and skincare products. I ended up with a GALLON size bag of eyeshadows, blushes, brow pens and ephemera that I never use. I will learn nothing from this.

I just texted a friend “hey, do you want these 6 unopened jars of different wrinkle creams I bought and never used?” I am thinking now that offering SIX jars could be taken two ways… So I’m sitting here on pins & needles until she texts me back and we get to see how rude SHE thinks I just was.

My husband is away for a week. Apparently I am a MUCH bigger slob than I realized.

My debit card keeps getting blocked by bank thinking it’s fraud. 45 min on hold to explain it really is me trying to buy my clients book. I’m tired. My hand hurts. And after 10 hours of work, I am still behind. I am dah-hun with today.

Dear authors, I am feeling your pain. I wrote what I thought was a BRILLIANT pitch. I got almost ZERO requests. (Deafening silence from the publishing world) I had to start over and rewrite the whole thing from scratch. Even agents get “silent no’s” and have to try again.

What is the best things about staying educated on the books coming out in your genre is that it improves your chances of knowing when your book has the same premise as one already out there. 

The Other Human In My House just looked at me staring off into space and said, “What do you want to do today?” Huh? I’M DOING IT! Leave me alone!

I am constantly amazed by the generosity and camaraderie of writers. You folks are always there for each other. It is amazing.
