David SĂĄnchez has a new album imminent. I had a chance to hear this music live when he visited the Bay Area last September, a short while before they went into the studio to record it. It's gorgeous, and I simply can't wait to get my hands on the finished version.

Earlier this year I was working on some drumming exercises, and stumbled onto an interesting pattern around fast flams in repeated sticking sequences. For the life of me, I couldn't find it articulated anywhere, so I wrote it up myself. With luck, one other drummer out there will find it useful.
